Seniors
Day Club. The
project runs in Bucharest, in the second district from 1997. It develops
indoor and out door activities: games, festivities, trips etc. A new activity initiated by the club is “We are
useful too!” which involves the manufacture of various objects in order to
assure the self-finance of the club. The practical activity involves members
in useful activities in order to find new financial resources. These
handicrafts were sold through stores from Bucharest and during the fairs. ·
FAR 99- NGOs fair
organized by civil society Development Foundation in Universitatii Square,
between 12-15 of June. The objects handicraft by the elderly were sold by
themselves and the revenues were totally covered the 100$ fee, for the fair
participation. ·
Haloween Day-
handicraft fair at the Bucharest Korean School. Members of the club took part
at that and realized revenues in their benefit. ·
Christmas Tree-
Christmas fair organized by the International Women Association from Romania.
The foundation participated with new objects done by elderly. Inside the club has been
celebrated the birthdays, the medical information visits religious day’s
festivities so. Sperante Center Sfintu
Gheorghe. The project proposes to
develop the local community of Sfintu Gheorghe, Tulcea County. This will be
done through a daily center. The daily center will have two components: a
social work part and a information one. The information component
is opened for all community members and it will offer information regarding
the rural tourism, practicing a restrictive fishing, conformed with the
natural resources and the environment protection. The information component of the center will organize work
meetings with the local community representants for the solution of the
community problems. The social work activities
will develop through the elderly daily club which will assure for the
population in the area spending of the time in a pleasant way. We wish to
establish relations between the
elderly from Sfintu Gheorghe and the elderly club members from Bucharest
through common activities in Sfintu Gheorghe. The purpose of these exchanges
is to create a reciprocal help system, meeting the others habits, traditions
and the life style, and to eliminate the the loneliness created by the
geographical isolation. For the development of
these activities Sperante Foundation will build two houses in Sfintu Gheorge,
one for the center and one for the accommodation of the Bucharest elderly
involved in the project. The construction will be
realized on a land concessed by The City Hall. For the financial
independence of the project in
the house where will accommodate pensioners we will practice the rural
tourism. |
